Chase Skylar DeMayo served in the United States Air Force as a Public Affairs journalist at Langley Air Force Base. On April 1, 2008, at age 20, he experienced cardiac arrest.

His near-death experience account describes remembered experiences and personal spiritual interpretation. Reporting should distinguish those memories from medical facts and should not present the account as medical proof.

Chase holds a Doctorate in Holistic Counseling and a Master of Metaphysical Science (M.Msc.) from the University of Sedona. These are nonclinical degrees. He is not a medical doctor or licensed mental health provider; his speaking and educational work do not provide medical or mental health treatment.
